So we we supposed to fly out of Isafordur, West Fjords, Iceland. The drive from Hotel Nupúr in what I considered white out conditions was bad enough. I was so happy when we made it to the tunnel (which is 6 kilometers long) and is an enginering marvel. So at least while we were in the tunnel we were 'safe'. We made it to the airport only to find the plane couldn't land. We are now at the local yarn shop waiting to see if there will be any flights later. We did get to go to a full bakery to pick up snacks and lunch.
If not, we will be bussed back to Hotel Nupúr (oh yippie). If we get a flight tomorrow we can try driving straight home instead of staying at the in-laws overnight. That way I might make it back to work on time. Since I have NO extra vacation time that's important. That's assuming our tour manager Ragga can do magic with changing our flights.

You will not drive home sleep deprived No way no how I an hiding keys as we speak one or two days really won't make that much dif better that you get there in one piece. :>)
ReplyDeleteNice sis (I assume this is sis) - but we can sleep on the plane and take turns driving. I've used all my vacation time so I have to get home.
DeleteWell...what's a trip of a lifetime without a little adventure and scrambling at the last minute. If necessary I will take time off work and drive you home - I (Paul) have a week of PTO built up and they sure as heck do not need me that bad. Let me know your flight schedule ASAP - on your blog so I know when to pick you up. We are packing as we speak...:)
